Ward Swim Party

Brad and I are the Activities Chair persons for our Ward and last night we had a fun swimming party at this fabulous home owned by the brother of one of our Ward members. He shares his home with Ward families from all over and we were fortunate to have been able to use his facilities last evening. The highlight was of course the pool, although many ward members used the basketball courts, batting cages and took rides on the train. Here are just a few of my favorite pictures from the evening. (I have a new camera with a burst feature so was able to capture some great action shots.)

Kaycee's last night before heading back to Washington

Kaycee headed back to Washington today to get ready to start the 5th grade. As is our tradition, we have one last fling for the summer with a family get together at Boondock's. On her first try, Kaycee picks a fun game and immediately wins 40 tickets!
So, we all gathered around while she tried one more time. You guessed it, she won 75 more tickets! She was on a roll and the night looked promising.
With Sara looking on, Julie tried her luck. Nope, she couldn't keep the trend going.
Sara, Tyson and Kaycee are concentrating on the next game
while Brad patiently waits for someone to come fix his game. After winning big, he discovered the machine was out of tickets.
Everyone is patiently waiting for a little food to keep them going.
Kaycee's grandparents, Brent and Carla Taylor and Grandpa Means
Kaycee's Aunt Jenny and Uncle Dave
Aunt Rachel, Uncle Kelly and Aunt Julie

Here's Sara as we start a little miniature golf, with Rachel admiring her technique.
Kelly and Tyson are patiently waiting for their turn.
Julie hits it down the fairway with Brad looking on.
We spotted Carla, Jessica and Jenny on the bridge above
Kayce and her friend Tia looking like they had a great time.

Dad's 90th Birthday Party

Isn't this just so cute!

Kaycee was playing the piano when her Dad and Aunt Rachel decided to show her how it was done. It took a few tries, but they did remember how to play the old duets.

What talent, what concentration! It was awesome.

It's about time

So, I've been hearing from everyone that I'm pretty lame because I haven't updated my blog recently. So, I'm going to do a little updating today and see if I can redeem myself.

California Trip

Brad and I made a trip to California at the end
of March. We started our trip in Ojai and got
to visit with Katie for a few days. This is Brad
and his brother Ben as they head out to the
golf course. They had a great time re-learning
how to golf. Neither have been golfing for many
years.

Katie and I enjoyed the sunshine on the porch
outside our wonderful hotel room. Katie works
at the Ojai Valley Inn and Spa and was able to
get us a great deal on a room. She stayed
with us and it was GREAT!

This is cousin Natalie meeting us for some pizza.
It was great to be able to visit with her and here
all about her hair school adventures. She'll be
finished with school this year. Then we'll have two
members of our family who can do wonders with
our hair!

Here's the rest of the Mean's family. Vickie,
Maxo and Ben also join us for some pizza.

This is the view of the upper stories above
our porch at the hotel.

This is Brad relaxing after his golf experience.

We went to Katie's apartment and visited with
Norman. He's was so excited to see us!

Here's Katie and I on our way to do some
shopping!

After Ojai, we went to San Diego where I was
attending a conference. Jane and Steve were
there too so we got to see them. We enjoyed
some yummy Mexican food one night, then
went to our cousin Randy's house for dinner
the next night. Randy played the piano for us
and we reminisced about the old days. Uncle Guy
was also there. Don't know why we didn't get their
pictures. We probably forgot the camera. Anyway,
it was great to see them and fun to talk with them.
And seeing Guy was like having a little bit of Mom
with us. They look so much alike and have some
of the same mannerisms. It was a fun trip!
