A week in Phoenix!

Brad and I traded our timeshare for a condo in Scottsdale, AZ, so we got to spend a whole week in beautiful, sunny AZ. Here we are as we are waiting for our plane.

This was the golf course view we had from our Condo patio. It was beautiful and we had lots of wildlife around us. We saw jackrabbits, hummingbirds, quail, lizards and all kinds of fun critters to watch.
And, of course, beautiful bougainvilleas. Mom always had these growing in our yard in Phx. and I always loved them.
This duck decided to come see me while I was eating my breakfast out on the patio. She wandered all around me and wasn't at all afraid. It was fun.
And, of course, one of the main reasons for visiting Phoenix was to see our family. We got to spend lots of time with Brad's parents and enjoyed every minute of it.
We were able to visit Brad's Aunt Gin and Uncle John. We really enjoyed catching up with them and hearing about their family.
Steve and Jane joined us for dinner at Maggiano's. This was a restaurant we found in Boston and loved it so we were excited when there was one just down the street from where we were staying. Jane looks so good. She's lost 50 lbs. since we last saw here. Way to go, Jane!
For me, one of the best parts of our trip was reconnecting with some friends from the past. Peggy was my best friend all through high school and I haven't seen her in a really long time. We had a great time talking about old times and hearing about each other's lives
I've known Craig since I was three years old. It was so fun to reminisce about grade school, high school, and all the memories we have together. His beautiful wife, Julie, which just happens to be Peggy's younger sister, cooked us a fabulous dinner and put up with listening to us talk the night away. Thanks, Julie!
We extended our trip so we could be there for a surprise birthday party for Steve, who turned 60 while we were there. This is his surprised face!
Stephanie and her boyfriend did most of the cooking and had of lots really good food. Enjoy all the pictures from the party.

A day with Dave Ramsey

Brad and I volunteered to help at the Dave Ramsey Total Money Makeover seminar. Dave took a few minutes to visit with the volunteers and we were fortunate to get a picture with him.

We're excited because Dave has taught us how to be smarter with our money. We wish we had known this stuff much sooner!

Empty Nester's FHE Night

Brad and I are excited to now be part of an Empty Nester's FHE group. Tonight it was our turn to host the dinner. Since it's almost Easter, we decorated the table accordingly. I thought it turned out kinda cute, so took a couple of pictures.

The women decided to sit on one side of the table. Here's Carolyn and Gladys
And Carolyn, Gladys and Joanne

The men - Val, Alan and Paul. We had a really enjoyable evening and hopefully the dinner was good. Val presented a great FHE for all of us. More to come on that later.

Spring break with Kaycee

Jess and Dave invite both families to their house so we could see Kaycee while she was in town. Here's a great family photo and it even includes Brodie!

Here's Aunt Sara

Aunt Julie
Aunt Rachel - although this isn't her at the event. (I forgot to pull my camera out until everyone was almost ready to leave, and by then Rachel had already gone home. Sorry Rache)

Kaycee and Dave and Cafe Rio

Kaycee is here for a few days enjoying her spring break from school. For a special treat for me, she and Dave came and had lunch with me. Can you believe Dave has never been to Cafe Rio? Kaycee and I decided it was time he gave it a try. I think he liked it.
